Hockey Talk, Torino Style
Canada beat the Czech Republic and Russia beat the US yesterday in two games that, according to my new favorite sports reporter, Renzo Gilodi of the official Torino Olympics web site, were of "incredible intensity and pathos."
Did you hear that, those of you who still insist that hockey is just a game? PATHOS.
But enough from me, here's Renzo on the Canada-Czech game:
It is a powerful Canada, with Martin Brodeur that on Jagr and Tomas Kaberle performed one of the two most incredible ventures seen up to now in the Olympic tournament: two left hand saves stopping two terrific shots destined for the goal posts cross. The game is vibrant, fantastic, the Czech Republic attacks in the third period and shortens the distance still with Cajanek but the Canadians (superb Chris Pronger in backline, Draper checker, Martin St.Louis in the runs) conclude by winning.
Say no more.

This is how I would describe the launch of M2 communications if I were an Italian sports reporter:
Spirited Canadian Mary Campbell and brave American Martha Sullivan exploded their new business project with minimal fury, but the speed of their wild efforts soon took breaths away from competitors. Sullivan’s talents at translation shock her clients to sing full-throated opera of thanks, with payment following in the wake of this grateful gondola. Generalissimo Campbell continues delighting her friends with an eagle eye for perspective business opportunities. It is early times, but who can doubt that these two ladies have success in stars!
Um, how does one meet a tokyo sexwale? It is almost imperative to meet. A tokyo sexwale? Hummm....

there were no nova scotians on the canadian olympic team, otherwise, WE WOULD HAVE WON.
